E-learning applications

E-learning applications are commonly offered via so-called Learning portals. Larger organisations have established their own Virtual Learning Centre to manage training within their organisation. These environments make it possible to train large numbers of employees simultaneously, as well as providing an insight into progress and training results.

A great advantage of e-learning is that knowledge transfer to large numbers of employees is achieved at relatively little cost. The knowledge is available 24 hours a day and employees themselves can set the time and pace. Real time testing makes it possible to immediately check whether the knowledge provided has been well received.

In front of a box

"Someday, in the distant future, our grandchildren's grandchildren will develop a new equivalent of our classrooms. They will spend many hours in front of boxes with fires glowing within. May they have the wisdom to know the difference between light and knowledge."
